gardening love

So, this is my view as I type right now.

I am sitting on the deck, baby on my lap, cold one by my side, grill started for dinner. The kids are running around the woods below me with walkie talkies. Um, and dada just brought me a plate of cheesy nachos.

LIFE IS GOOD.

We spent the day gardening. Its finally sunny again after a week of clouds and rain, even a few flurries on Friday. So far we are just putting boxes together, getting the fence ready (on account of the deer and rabbits EVERYWHERE). But I can see it coming together.

I gotta confess I had a rough week, hence my silence. Its hard to write here when I am down lately. But its spring, Sara. You live in the country, like you wanted. Where is the happy June???

I dont know. On haitus this week apparently. And I hate writing on and on about it. I think I need to face facts and get a light box for light therapy for those grey weeks. Seriously. It was bad this week, like little miss by Friday was asking me why I am so sad and, pointing to the corner of her mouth says you need to make your mouth go up like this, in a smile. And I think, I suck.

But then the sun comes back out and the kiddies pretend to be spies in the woods and dada has three days off and the garden is taking shape and I think, oh, I can take it!

And I can. And I do. Next winter though, definitely.

In any case. THE GARDEN IS GOING TO BE AMAZING. Yes, that deserves all caps.

I am super psyched about it.

We are going to do a bed of lavender and other pretty flowery medicinal herbs and an herb spiral in the middle and boxes of greens and marigolds all over and teepees set up for climbing beans and a sunflower house for the kids and oh...so good. I cant wait to post pics when its in its full glory in mid July.

But for now. The sun is shining through the pines, dinner is nearly ready, and life really is good.
