I've never done this, as you regular readers know, and it seems totally like "real blogger" of me. HA.
In any case, this past winter I got little miss a new amber necklace for her birthday. Yes, we all wear amber necklaces, see HERE for my post on baby gear and why we love these necklaces.
little miss in her new necklace |
As I searched through Etsy (there are MANY MANY amber necklace sellers these days!) I was looking for three things. 1) Raw amber, it is supposed to be more effective than polished, 2) a seller located in the US (nothing against the others but I wanted a quicker ship date!) and 3) someone with 100% satisfaction rate. Emma Lee, of Estany's Flame fit the bill. And when I contacted her about a necklace that I wanted for little miss she immediately offered to make a special one for us (the right size and with a small charm) and had a super quick turnaround time, even though SHE HAD JUST GIVEN BIRTH! Seriously, AMAZING! I love finding mama entrepreneurs to support and so I wanted to highlight her work here. So I thought, HEY, GIVEAWAAAAAAY!! And, Voila!
Also, we are celebrating two things 1) I am close to 100,000 hits on this blog, which is kinda crazy to me and 2) I have nearly 100 likes on Facebook. (WHAT, you didnt KNOW I had a facebook page??? I DO! YOU SHOULD LIKE IT! I mean, if you like my blog, why not, right??)
YES. LOTS OF CAPS WRITING IN THIS POST. HA. SORRY.
So, YAAAAAAAY.

I will do a random drawing by next week Monday, (which will likely involve a child selecting a name out of hat, fancy right?) And let the winner know early next week. Fun, right? And hey, you dont have a baby? These are great little baby gifts too!
Now, here is a little Q and A from Emma Lee about her business:
How long have you been making necklaces and why did you start?
I have been making Hazelwood and Baltic amber jewelry for almost 2 years now. I initially landed into the stuff when my middle child was suffering from digestive issues. I had heard that it might help and was willing give it a try. To my surprise, it worked. I was so impressed that I decided to buy the supplies to make one for myself as well. I have suffered from acne since elementary school with no relief from soaps or creams. The Hazelwood cured my acne! I am so impressed with the results that I have all of my friends and family benefiting from the stuff too.
What does the name of your business mean to you?

Its silly really... Estany was the name of my old cat. She was the most beautiful flame point Himalayan. She was a good friend and I miss her dearly!
Can you tell us how you got into amber necklaces? As a creative mama, what inspires you?

I started a coop for amber necklaces that wasn't as good as I thought. I knew that I could do better, so I vowed then to make my own. I love the stuff so much. Knowing its magic and hearing all of the feedback inspires me. I love doing custom orders!
