from tree to tree
crossing the road as i drove on my way
its blue and black a flash through the april snowflakes
against the grey sky
hope.
instead rejoicing in lilacs,
purpling the hillside
brisk air
leaves unfurling to trumpet out springs return,
triumphant over the grey dull winter endured
hope.
in new life. in lessons learned. in motherhood unfolding.
in dimpled pink babies knees, shakily, exploring the world.
in future. and all it holds. and life. forever new.
hope.
